The Bowerman Women's Watch Committee released its preseason rankings for the 2010 Collegiate Track & Field Athlete of the Year Award (The Bowerman) Thursday, January 14 and Brenda Martinez, UC Riverside's two-time All-American, found her name among the 15 listed.

With a track season still remaining at UC Riverside, Brenda Martinez is just one of the few collegiate athletes that came to Belgium this summer. The choice was a good one. Martinez has won multiple races, set multiple PRs, and has made herself the favorite in the NCAA coming into 2010. While in Europe Martinez has been consistent and competitive running around her new PRs (2:00, 4:09) in almost ever race and has won a handful. The HS graduate from Rancho Cucamonga has come into her own this year and lets the US know there is another mid-distance star on the horizon. Watch The Flotrack Video.
