Las Vegas, NV - After a rain-plagued Saturday in Las Vegas canceled their regularly scheduled match against UNLV, the UC Riverside men's tennis team was finally able to get back on the courts on Sunday morning.
Looking to win their fourth straight match, the Highlanders faced off against the No. 75 ranked Rebels, but could not earn the victory as they dropped a close 4-3 contest at the Ferttita Tennis Complex.
The Highlanders (3-2) opened the match by losing the doubles point as they dropped matches at the No. 1 and 3 positions. Needing to win four of the six singles matches to upset a ranked opponent, UCR fell just short as they won three of them.
Quoc Doan (pictured) defeated Attila Toth 7-5, 0-6, 6-2 at No. 2, Austin Andres defeated Matthew Kunkel 6-3, 7-5 at No. 3, and Freddy Quintos earned a 6-4, 7-6 victory at No. 4.
