Game Notes - UC Riverside at UC Santa Barbara
Coming off a
last-second win on Saturday against Cal State Fullerton that pushed their win streak to three straight and seven of the last eight, the UC Riverside women’s basketball team embarks on its last regular-season road swing of the year starting Thursday, Feb. 11 at UC Santa Barbara at 7:00 pm.
Fans not able to make the trip can follow the team live via
live stats or
listen to the play-by-play as the Voice of the Highlanders, Ghizal Hasan, calls the game beginning at 6:55 pm right here at gohighlanders.com.
The Gauchos own the all-time record against the Highlanders, 20-15, but UCR defeated UCSB 77-60 in their previous meeting on Jan. 16, 2010 in Riverside. That 17-point win was UCR’s first over the Gauchos since the 2007 season and marked its largest margin of victory over UCSB in the Division I era.
The Gauchos have won two of their last three games and are tied for fifth in the Big West standings. Emilie Johnson’s 12.9 points per game leads three players in double-figure scoring.
The Highlanders are in third place in the conference standings and have four players averaging double figures led by Alyssa Morris’ (pictured) 12.9 points per game.
