
UCR Places 20 On Big West Conference Spring All-Academic Team

Irvine, CA - The Big West Conference announced today that 20 members of the Highlanders spring sports teams were honored with inclusion on the 2010 Big West Conference Spring All-Academic Team.
To be eligible for the All-Academic team, student-athletes must maintain a 3.2 cumulative grade point average, complete one full academic year at the member institution prior to the season for which the award is being received (at least a sophomore academically), and compete in at least 50 percent of their team's contests.
The UCR Men's Track & Field program had six student-athletes make the squad (Steven Crum, Kevin Fashola, William Ibekwe, Talal Khan, Daniel Lindstrom, and Marcus Marbrey) while the Women's Track & Field team placed four Highlanders on the team (Karen Han, Lauren Reid, Brittany Reimer, and Reanne Swafford).
UC Riverside's Women's Tennis Team put three student-athletes on the squad in Donna McCullough, Roxanne Plata, and Nadia Sakhakorn. Men's Tennis (Sean Peterson and John Park) and Women's Golf (Alexandra Erdman and Linda Ong) each added two.
Men's Golf (Scott Clayton), Softball (Tiana Towns), and Baseball (Joey Gonzales) each placed one student-athlete on the All-Academic Team.
