Eric Show was the winning pitcher for the Highlanders in the 1977 regional championship game as the team went on to win the 1977 NCAA Division II National Championship. He was selected by the San Diego Padres in the June, 1978 draft. He was called up to the major leagues in 1981 and was the starting pitcher for the Padres in Game 1 of the 1984 World Series. At the conclusion of his big league career, he was San Diego's career leader in wins.
