Frank Assumma was a six time All-America selection (three in track, and three in cross country), and a three time Division II National Champion in the 1,500m for the Highlanders. In 1982, he became the first athlete to run the indoor mile in less than four minutes on British soil. He earned CCAA Male Athlete of the Year honors at the conclusion of the 1981-82 season.
