Frank Johnson was the first member of the Highlanders football program to be seleced in the NFL Draft when the Los Angeles Rams drafted him in 1974. A tight end at UC Riverside, Johnson played linebacker for LA, but would return to the offensive side of the ball when he later played with the Hawaiians of the World Football League.
