Gary McCord won the 1970 College Division NCAA Individual Championship as a member of the Highlanders, setting a course and tournament record by shooting a 66. A two-time All-American selection, McCord went on to play on the PGA Tour finishing his career with two dozen top-10 finishes including a pair of second-place finishes at the Greater Milwaukee Open in 1975 and 1977. In 1986, he joined CBS Sports as a golf analyst and he still works tournaments for the network as of 2010. McCord has written two books to date, "Just a Range Ball in a Box of Titleists" and "Golf for Dummies." On October 17, 2009, he received the UC Riverside's 2009 Alumni Award of Distinction.
