Mavis Washington was an AAU All-American Basketball selections in 1974, ’75, and ’76 and played on the AAU National Championship team in 1975. She would later play in the USVBA Volleyball Nationals in 1978, ’80, and ’84. In 1979, she starred as "Swish" in the movie "Fast Break" which also starred "Welcome Back Kotter's" Gabe Kaplan.
