Russ Bolinger was a tight end on the UC Riverside football team who would later go on to play professionally with the NFL's Detroit Lions (1976-82) and Los Angeles Rams (1983-85), and the USFL's Memphis Showboats. After dabbling in acting, Bolinger worked in the Lions organization for nine seasons in the personnel department. From 2005 to 2010, he was the top national scout for the Washington Redskins.
