The UC Riverside Men's Soccer Team (2-5-0) traveled to Green Bay Wisconsin this weekend for the Green Bay Nike Soccer Classic looking to extend its two-game winning streak.
Things looked good for the Highlanders in the early going as last week's Big West Conference Player of the Week, Robert Cate (Alameda, CA), scored his team-leading third goal of the season off of a Cesar Diaz (Corona, CA) pass with 25:24 gone in the first to give UCR a 1-0 lead.
That advantage didn't hold up for long, however, as IUPUI tied the game up less than three minutes later. The teams went into the locker room at the break tied at one despite the Jaguars outshooting the Highlanders 8-3 in the period.
In the second half, it was UCR who enjoyed a shot discrepancy taking seven of the ten shots in the period, but the lone shot to find its mark came off of a 15-yarder from IUPUI's Perez Agaba and proved to be the game winner.
The Highlanders second game of the tournament is scheduled for Sunday, September 21 at 10 am against Western Illinois.
