Junction City, OR - .Junior Kevin Fitzgerald led the UC Riverside men's golf team with a top-20 individual finish as the team concluded the Duck Invitational in 13th place on Tuesday.
In a play-six, count-five format, the Highlanders totaled 1140 after rounds of 382-370-388. Host Oregon won the team title with a three-round 1073 while Arkansas placed second at 1080, and Oregon State finished third at 1088.
Fitzgerald tied for 16th to lead the squad after firing rounds of 75-71-73=219, while Scott Clayton finished tied for 40th with a 70-73-81=224.
Andrew Patipaksiri (79-73-78) and Roy Kim (79-75-77) shot 230 and 231 respectively to finish 71st and 74th, while Robbie Mamo placed 80th (79-78-80=237) and Matt Fitzgerald finished 82nd (81-79-80=250.
Oregon's Daniel Miernicki won the individual title with a seven-under-par 209 (70-72-67).
UCR returns to the links on April 5 at the Cowboy Classic in Scottsdale, AZ.
