Six Matches Against 2009 Tourney Foes Highlight 2010 Men's Soccer Schedule

Riverside—UC Riverside Head Men's Soccer Coach Junior Gonzalez announced today that the Highlanders 2010 schedule will feature six matches against 2010 NCAA Tournament participants (download Men's Soccer Schedule wallpaper).
UCR's first four matches of the season are on the road as they open the year with a Wednesday, September 1 visit to San Jose State at 7 pm PT. The Highlanders then travel to the UNLV Nike Invitational where they take on Alabama A&M on Saturday, September 4 at 10:30 am and Valparaiso on Monday, September 6 at 10 am. The road trip ends with a Thursday, September 9 visit to 2009 NCAA quarterfinalist UCLA beginning at 7 pm.
UC Riverside's home schedule gets underway on Monday, September 13 as the 2009 NAIA quarterfinalist Biola Eagles travel to the UCR Soccer Stadium. That match marks the first of four straight home contests for the Highlanders highlighted by a Sunday, September 26 meeting with 2010 NCAA Tournament participants Loyola Marymount.
Big West play gets underway on Wednesday September 29 as the Highlanders head to Anteater Stadium for a 7 pm match against 2009 NCAA participant UC Irvine. Cal Poly comes to Riverside to kick off the home conference schedule on Saturday, October 2 at 7 pm.
2009 NCAA participant UC Santa Barbara visits the UCR Soccer Stadium on Sunday, October 17 at 6 pm. The Anteaters travel to UCR on Wednesday October 27 at 7 pm, and the final game of the regular season sees the Highlanders at UC Santa Barbara on Saturday, November 6 at 7 pm.
The top four teams in the conference advance to the Big West Tournament which is slated for Wednesday, November 10 and Saturday, November 13.
