Raquel Hefflin Featured In September 15th Issue Of Sports Illustrated's Faces In The Crowd

New York, NY—UC Riverside Women's Cross Country runner Raquel Hefflin was one of six athletes to be featured in Sports Illustrated's September 15th issue of 'Faces in the Crowd'.

The senior came off of a redshirt track season to win the 4k Nevada Twilight Classic on August 29, clocking a course-record time of 14:06 (recap). She finished 23 seconds ahead of a field that included runners from three teams ranked in the top-10 regionally, and was named the USTFCCA national female Division I athlete of the week (story), as well as the Big West Cross Country Female Athlete of the Week (story).

Hefflin will be running again this weekend as the Highlanders host the 34th Annual UC Riverside Invitational starting at 7:30 am PT on Saturday, September 13 at the Ag/Ops Course in Riverside.
