Riverside—The next UC Riverside Athletics Hall Of Fame induction ceremony is scheduled for the evening of April 15, 2017 in the Grand Parisian Ballroom at the Mission Inn.
While waiting for the winter announcement of the names of those inductees, gohighlanders.com has been digging through boxes of HDVD, Betamax tapes, LaserDisc and Ampex 2-inch Helical Scan video tape source material to introduce our history to new members of Highlanders Nation, and re-introduce that same history to those of you who lived through many of these memorable moments.
Today's video highlights the career of 1990 Hall Of Fame inductee Louis Fiatoa, who was a defensive end and Team MVP for the UC Riverside Football Team.
Once you've watched the video, head over to the Hall of Fame website, and check out the bios for all of our inductees.
Special thanks to longtime UC Riverside videographer Jim Brown, who created many of the videos you will see over the coming weeks and months. Although Jim passed away in December of 2012, his passion for UC Riverside lives on through his work.
Additional thanks to Christy Zwicke and Christina Rodriguez in Strategic Communications, for finding the majority of this footage in their archives, and passing it along so we could share it with you.
