Lomeli, Dominique Scores Help Men's Soccer To 2-2 Draw At San Jose State

San Jose, CA—The UC Riverside Men's Soccer Team extended its unbeaten streak to three straight matches Friday evening as Romario Lomeli's and Philipp Domonique's scores helped the Highlanders to a 2-2 draw at San Jose State.

Lomeli got UCR on the board first taking a Jacob Arrieta pass and placing it in the lower right-hand corner of the goal in the 12 minute of play. San Jose State's Andrew Mendoza tied the score 18 minutes later, and in the 56th minute, Zach Penner put the Spartans on top 2-1 following a turnover in the Highlanders' defensive 18.

With 15:02 to go in regulation, Dominique picked up the equalizer connecting on a header following a save by Spartans' keeper Nedin Tucakovic. Both teams had opportunities in the overtime periods, but neither squad found the back of the net.

Tucakovic recorded 10 saves in the match, while his counterpart, UC Riverside goalie Victor Morales, picked up 11. That raised his Big West Conference leading total to 40.

The Highlanders remain on the road this weekend as they travel to San Francisco Sunday for a 4 pm PT kick off against the Dons.
