99 For Title IX Sends Donors To The Aloha State
2/28/2017 2:21:00 PM | UC Riverside Athletics Association
Honolulu, HI—In early February, a group of Highlanders Athletics supporters traveled to Hawaii with the Women's Basketball team. They shared a flight with the team, stayed in the team hotel, joined the team in the locker room, sat courtside, and shared in the victory over the Rainbow Wahine. They were given a special tour of Pearl Harbor and Hickam Air Force Base by UCR Alumnus John Wallace.
This once in a lifetime experience began with their registration to the UC Riverside Athletics 99 for Title IX event.
The annual event—held at the Riverside Art Museum—is in support of women's athletic programs at UC Riverside. The event includes drinks, hors d'oeuvres, live jazz, silent auction, raffle prizes, and a live auction.
The event in 2016 included this opportunity to travel to Hawaii with the Women's Basketball Team as part of the live auction, in addition to various other prizes such as a trip to Las Vegas with Men's Basketball.
The group on this trip supported women's athletics at UC Riverside by holding the winning bids to travel to Hawaii. A trip to paradise to take in a Highlanders victory, while simultaneously supporting scholarships and the student-athlete experience, is just the type of commitment that any UC Riverside fan can get behind.
This year, 99 for Title IX will be held on the roof of the Riverside Art Museum on May 19, at 5:29pm. To register visit https://advancementservices.ucr.edu/TitleiX/. For additional information call (951) 827-5611.
