Anthony Oshinuga, a 2006 graduate of the University of California Riverside, is a dedicated aviator, athlete, engineer, and entrepreneur, based in Temecula, California. Anthony owns AirOshi, an aerial scenic wine touring business, that offers tours throughout Southern California. When he is not giving tours, he is competing as an aerobatic aviator. He spends the air show season flying at the highest level. He is a relative newcomer to the sport of aerobatics; however, his disciplined work ethic and raw talent will continue to propel him in the years to come.
Anthony majored in mechanical engineering while playing point guard for the UC Riverside Men's Basketball team. His attraction to UCR was a combination of academics and athletics. The bonus of having a beautiful campus made UCR the perfect fit.
Anthony remains involved by attending games when he can, and likes to stop by and chat with old professors. He has also donated flights provided through his aviation company AirOshi. Giving back to the Highlanders is important to Anthony because UC Rriverside made a major and direct impact on his success, and he says "I had an overall great experience during my enrollment there. I feel as though giving back will help UCR to continue to make impactful experiences for future college students who decide to attend and obtain a degree as I have."
Anthonyn is sponsored by Alpinestars as an aerobatic pilot, and is aspiring to be a Red Bull Air Race Pilot. He says, "Obtaining my degree in mechanical engineering and achieving a commercial aviation license couldn't have been accomplished without the education I received from UCR. As a pilot you share a lot of the same determination and concentration attributes that you display while obtaining an engineering degree. Neither were easy to do, but with determination and focus they were achievable."
