Men's Soccer Falls 2-0 To Vermont In Regular Season Home-Opener

Riverside, CA—The UC Riverside Men's Soccer Team (0-6-0) outshot Vermont (4-3-0), 15-10 on Sunday morning, but was unable to convert, falling 2-0 in its regular season home-opener.

"I thought we started the game well and played a good first half. We created some good chances but unfortunately didn't finish them," Head Coach Tim Cupello said. "We have to do a better job of scoring earlier in the match and forcing our opponents to deal with playing from behind."

GAME NOTES
The Highlanders recorded at least eight shots on goal for the second consecutive match and the third time this season. Their .800 shot on-goal percentage set a new season-high.

This marks the second time this season that UC Riverside has outshot its opponent.

Junior Eduardo Sanchez led the Highlanders with three shots, tying the season-high he set against Cal State Bakersfield on August 25, 2017.
