SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif.- The UC Riverside Men's Soccer Team earned its first conference win Saturday night as the Highlanders defeated Cal Poly 1-0 in double overtime. Junior defender Uros Illic would end the match in the 104th minute scoring his first goal of the season.
The Highlanders garnered their 3rd shutout of the season as junior Edwyn Guitierrez picked up four saves and held the Mustangs scoreless.
UCR was on the attack all night registering 19 shots, 11 of which were on goal, until finding the decider in the final period.

Eduardo Sanchez took a shot on goal that was deflected back and then finished by Illic to earn the Highlander golden goal.
15 shots were put up by the UC Riverside starters as the team put scoring pressure on the Mustangs in the match's entirety.
The Highlanders will look to make it two straight this Wednesday as they host UC Santa Barbara.
