EAST LANSING, Mich.— Monday morning, the UC Riverside Men's Soccer team (0-4-0) ended its Mid-West road trip falling to host Michigan State (3-0-1) 5-1.
The Highlanders held off the Spartan attack for the 1st half, allowing just one goal, but MSU would add four more in the 2nd to take a 5-0 lead.

Daniel Aguirre was a bright spot for the day helping UCR avoid a shutout with another late goal. The midfielder beat the Spartan goalkeeper 1-on-1 after being setup by senior midfielder
Alan Alcantara to punch in a Highlander goal in the 87th minute.
UC Riverside kept the shots battle close putting up nine shots on the day, nearly half of which were on goal, but the Spartan defense held on to win it 5-1.
The next stop for the Highlanders is a trip to Northern California at the end of the week as the team will visit Pacific on Thursday and Cal on Saturday.
