RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Following last week's decision by the Big West Conference Board of Directors to allow institutions to exercise institutional discretion regarding fan attendance at spring sporting events for the remainder of this year, UC Riverside Athletics has made the determination it will not host fans in any of its venues for the remainder of the 2021 spring season. 

"We understand some restrictions are being eased in certain areas and we appreciate the Board of Directors decision to allow our 11 institutions to exercise discretion with respect to fan attendance," said Interim Director of Athletics, Wesley Mallette. "However, based on the factors we must consider to successfully host competitions in our home venues, we will not have the ability to host fans at this time. We look forward to welcoming our fans back into our venues as soon as possible and thank them for their incredible support through this time."
