Men’s Cross Country Earns USTFCCCA Preseason Ranking

RIVERSIDE, Calif. - UC Riverside's men's cross country squad checked in at No. 15 in Tuesday's USTFCCCA Preseason Regional rankings.
UCR finished last year at No. 17 after finishing 17th out of 31 teams at the NCAA West Regionals in Seattle. The Highlanders were led in Seattle by Ashraf Abdelmagid, who finished 72nd and returns this season.
"It's nice for our men to get some recognition for all the work they've put in over the last couple of years to get to this point," Highlanders assistant coach Zach Newsom said. "Now we have to go prove we deserve it on the course and continue to work our way up."
UC Riverside will begin the 2023 campaign on Friday morning at the Big West Preview as hosted by Cal Poly.
