COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho — UC Riverside completed its first tournament of the 2026-27 season Tuesday at the CDA National Reserve Invitational, hosted by Eastern Washington at CDA National Reserve.
Caleb Kim led the Highlanders, finishing at 10-over 226 after rounds of 76, 73 and 77. Wai Yan Lin followed at 11-over 227, opening the tournament with consecutive rounds of 74 before closing with a 79.
Brady Fonville recorded UCR's lowest round of the tournament with an even-par 72 in the second round. Fonville closed with a 2-over 74 to finish at 15-over 231.
Ryo Murata posted rounds of 81, 75 and 84, while Ace Pascual carded rounds of 78, 82 and 84.
The Highlanders made their biggest improvement in the second round, lowering their team score by 15 strokes with a 294 after opening with a 309.
St. Mary's captured the team title with a three-round score of 857, one stroke ahead of Pacific. Oregon State's Davis Hartwell earned individual medalist honors at 8-under 208.
The Highlanders' next tournament begins Monday, Oct. 5, when they compete in the Testudo Cup.
