Eric Gonzalez

Eric Gonzalez enters his third season on the UC Riverside men's soccer staff in 2023. 

A native of the Inland Empire from nearby Corona, Gonzalez made 70 appearances for UCR from 2012 to 2015 and led the Highlanders to their first Big West title in 2014. Gonzalez came to UCR from Santiago High School, where he was named the Press-Enterprise Boys Player of the Year in 2011 and led Santiago to an undefeated season and a Big VII title. 

Professionally, Gonzalez most recently featured for Temecula FC of the National Premier Soccer League following stints with Las Vegas Lights FC and Oakland Roots SC. He also served as head coach at Jurupa Valley High School.

Gonzalez’s youth career includes playing in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy (USSDA) with the LA Galaxy and Chivas USA.  In 2008–09, he made 24 appearances for the LA Galaxy U-15/U-16 squad and helped the club win the first USSDA U-16 Championship. He was also part of the U.S. U-17 national team in 2009.
