Gabe Smith joined the Highlanders men's soccer staff as an assistant coach in the spring of 2006.
Smith has been the head coach for teams in the JUSA Select Club from 2004-present. He has been appointed the Director of Operations and oversees the direction of the club.
He also has been the Director of the West Coast F.C. Club from 1995-99. In addition, Smith is a head coach for the Olympic Development Program and is on the Regional Staff for Region IV. His ODP Boys '89 team won the National Championship in Texas.
He earned his Associate in Arts at Irvine Valley College, making the finals of the State Championship in 1991. He also played one season at Cal State Fullerton in 1989. He was a member of the Olympic Development Program.
Smith is engaged and resides in Mission Viejo. He holds a U.S. Soccer Federation "A" license. He enjoys watching sports and playing golf in his spare time.
