UC Riverside

Kyle Schmid joined the UC Riveride Men's Soccer coaching staff in August of 2013 after one season as volunteer assistant coach at Loyola Marymount.

He served as the director of soccer operations at Cal State Northridge from 2010-11 and coached in the South Bay Force club organization since 2010.

Schmid played his collegiate days at UC Irvine where he competed for the Anteaters from 2005-08. He closed out his senior season by helping UCI to the Big West Tournament title and an NCAA Tournament berth while also earning All-Big West Conference honors.

In 2009, he trained in the MLS preseason with the New York Red Bulls, Seattle Sounders and San Jose Earthquakes. He also trained with Everton FC First and Reserve Teams of the English Premier League in 2010 before joining FC Hasental of the National Premier Soccer League.

Schmid signed his first professional contract in 2011 when he joined the Carolina Railhawks of the North American Soccer League, helping the side to the league's regular-season championship.

Schmid is the son of former Los Angeles Galaxy, and current Seattle Sounders FC head coach Sigi Schmid. A 2009 graduate of UC Irvine with a degree in social ecology, he holds a USSF "C" License.
