Scott Juniper came to the Highlanders men's soccer program in the summer of 2003 as a volunteer assistant coach and was appointed a full-time assistant in the spring of 2004.
He is currently under supervision to become a certified sports psychologist, which will add an extra dimension to his fole alongside general coaching duties.
Juniper earned his bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Bristol (England) in 1998 and went on to receive his master's in sport and exercise science from the University of Bath (England) in 2002. His master's thesis was based on the group dynamics of elite soccer teams.
A collegiate soccer played in England at the University of Bristol, Juniper was named both freshman and player of the year in 1996 and was the leading scorer in 1996 and 1998. During that time, he represented England at the regional level.
In 2001, he was part of the national championship-winning team at the University of Bath. Juniper also played for a number of semi-professional teams in the English non-league pyramid.
Juniper holds "B" coaching licenses from UEFA and the USSF. In addition to his duties at UCR, he also serves as an assistant coach for the Cal South Olympic Development Program 91 boys team.
He is married and resides in Fullerton, CA.
