Dr. Ryan Buller is a fellowship trained Sports Medicine Physician who has been serving the people of Riverside County for over a decade. A native to Southern California, and raised in the Inland Empire, he has spent his career seeing to the health care needs for the community he loves and the place he calls home.
Dr. Buller did his premedical studies and earned his BS at the University of Southern California. He earned his Osteopathic Medical degree at Western University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Following medical school, he completed Family Medicine Residency training at Riverside University Health System, nurturing his interest in primary care. After residency training, his long-standing passion for all things related to sports led him to pursue a specialty in sports medicine. Dr. Buller completed his Sports Medicine Fellowship training at Harbor-UCLA. While at Harbor-UCLA, Dr. Buller trained under some of the most experienced physicians and brightest minds in the field of sports medicine and now uses that training for the benefit of athletes and physically active people across the Inland Empire.
Through his years in training and career, Dr. Buller has served as a team physician for various academic institutions and sports entities including Diamond Bar High School, Rancho Verde High School, Vista del Lago High School, Santiago High School, Citrus Hill High School, North Torrance High School, Los Angeles Harbor College, Los Angeles Southwest College, California State University-Dominguez Hills, Los Angeles Rugby Club, Special Olympics, the Dew Tour and other sports organizations. His most recent work includes being a team physician for the University of California Riverside, Riverside City College, Inland Empire 66ers of San Bernardino, USA Water Polo, Arlington High School, Ramona High School, and other schools and sports teams in the Inland Empire.
As a leader in the field of sports medicine he is the founder and former program director of two ACGME accredited Sports Medicine Fellowship Programs in Riverside County. In December 2017, Dr. Buller was elected the inaugural program director of the RUHS/UCR Sports Medicine Fellowship Program. After working tirelessly to build the first medical subspecialty fellowship program at Riverside University Health System, the RUHS/UCR Sports Medicine Fellowship Program received ACGME accreditation in April 2018. He served as this program’s director for 3 years and trained several talented and highly accomplished sports medicine physicians. He was recruited by KPC Health and Seven Star Medical Group to start a sports medicine fellowship program and in August 2021 was named the program director for the KPC Health Sports Medicine Fellowship Program. With much time and effort, he went on to obtain ACGME accreditation for the KPC Health Sports Medicine Fellowship Program in January 2022.
Dr. Ryan Buller is a faith driven husband and father who finds work-life balance by spending time with his wife and sons. He has found career success by combining his passions of medicine and sports. His special projects and interests include program initiation and development, medical mentoring, and encouraging our youth to pursue careers in medicine.
