UC Riverside

Ebony Macias joined UC Riverside Athletics in October 2024 as the Assistant Director of Sports Communication, Digital and Emerging Media. She oversees communications and digital coverage for men’s and women’s cross country, men’s basketball, men’s golf, women’s golf, and softball.

Macias has worked in collegiate athletics communications since 2018, with experience across NCAA Division I, II, and community college programs. She most recently served as Assistant Athletics Director for Communications at Cal State Dominguez Hills, managing media relations, website operations, social media, and live broadcasts. She previously held roles at Cal Poly Pomona and Cal State San Bernardino, where she led a full athletics website redesign.

She has served as the primary media relations contact and scores table lead at NCAA Division II West Regional Championships in volleyball, men’s basketball, and women’s basketball. She helped launch the NCAA Division I Acrisure Classic as part of the inaugural scores table team at the newly opened Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, and has coordinated scorer’s table operations at the event each of the past two years.

Macias began her career at College of the Desert, where she supported sports information. She holds a master’s degree in Coaching and Athletics Administration from Concordia University Irvine and a bachelor’s in English Literature from Cal State San Bernardino.
