Javonn Askins serves as the Director of Athletic Facilities and Operations at the University of California, Riverside, responsible for the execution, advancement, and long-term stewardship of athletic facilities and operations in support of UCR Athletics.
A Riverside native, Askins brings more than a decade of experience in athletic equipment and operations management across collegiate athletics. Prior to joining UCR, he held equipment leadership roles at Mt. San Antonio College and Riverside City College, where he supported multiple state championship and national championship programs, and gained Division I experience at the University of Southern California. His career reflects continued growth through increasing responsibility, complex environments, and hands-on leadership.
At UCR, Askins is known for a creative, solutions-oriented approach to facility projects, focusing on improving functionality, safety, and the student-athlete experience while maximizing resources. He works collaboratively across campus and with external partners to advance initiatives that strengthen athletics facilities, enhance gameday environments, and build meaningful campus and community engagement. Committed to continuous improvement and professional development, Askins approaches his role with an ownership mindset, prioritizing accountability, adaptability, and long-term impact in support of UCR Athletics and its student-athletes.
