Maggie Cornelius joined the UC Riverside women’s basketball staff for the 2026-27. She served as a graduate assistant at Boise State from 2024-26 under veteran head coach Gordy Presnell.
During her two seasons with the Broncos, Cornelius played an integral role in all aspects of the program, including opponent scouting, recruiting operations, player development, video coordination, and daily basketball operations. She independently prepared personnel scouting reports and game plans throughout the season while assisting with film breakdown, statistical analysis, practice planning, and in-game support. She also coordinated recruiting events, including a redesigned Junior Day experience, and assisted with official and unofficial campus visits.
In 2025-26, Cornelius helped Boise State to a 25-9 record while serving as the program’s primary personnel scout. Presnell entrusted her with preparing opponent personnel reports and gave her an active role in film preparation and game-day coaching.
Prior to her graduate assistant position, Cornelius spent three seasons (2021-24) as Boise State’s Head Team Manager, gaining experience in the day-to-day operations of a championship-level Division I program.
A native of Roseville, California, Cornelius was a three-sport athlete at Woodcreek High School, competing in basketball, golf, and softball. She began her collegiate career at Sierra College before transferring to Boise State after the COVID-19 pandemic canceled the 2020-21 season.
Cornelius earned her bachelor’s degree in Educational Studies with a Coaching Certificate and her master’s degree in Athletic Leadership from Boise State. She maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA throughout her collegiate career and graduated as one of Boise State’s Top 10 Scholars.
Cornelius married her husband, Cole Scully, in 2026.
