men's golf
The UC Riverside men's golf team will compete in five tournaments in the spring of 2010, including hosting their annual Braveheart Classic on Mar. 1-2, in preparation for the Big West Conference Championship in May. View the full men's golf schedule.

The Highlanders begin their championship season at the Anteater Invitational hosted by UC Irvine at Mesa Verde Country Club on Feb. 1-2. Last season, Scott Clayton (pictured) finished third individually for UCR at the Invite.

UC Riverside then returns to the links on Mar. 1-2 for their Annual Braveheart Classic at Oak Valley Golf Course in Beaumont, CA. The tournament featured 18 teams and assorted individuals in the 54-hole event in 2009.

On Mar. 22-23, the Highlanders play in the first of two out-of-state tournaments as they travel to Junction City, OR for the Duck Invitational hosted by the University of Oregon at Shadow Hills Country Club. UCR then travels to Scottsdale, AZ for the Cowboy Classic hosted by the University of Wyoming at Talking Stick Golf Club on Apr. 5-6.

The Big West Conference Championship gets underway on May 3-4 at the Mission Viejo Country Club in Mission Viejo, CA. Last year, Clayton and returning teammate Andrew Patipaksiri finished tied for third individually as the team placed fourth.

The Highlanders played in four tournaments in the fall and closed out that portion of their 2009 schedule with a second place finish out of 17 squads at the Bill Cullum Invitational on Oct. 26-27.

Clayton currently leads the contingent of UCR golfers with a career-low 71.58 scoring average on the season.
