UC Riverside Head Coach Paul Hjulberg announced today that the Highlanders women's golf team will compete in six tournaments in the spring of 2010.

UCR opens the new year at the Gold Rush Tournament hosted by Big West rival Long Beach State at Old Ranch Country Club in Seal Beach, CA from Feb. 8-9. The Highlanders then travel to Sedona, AZ for the Red Rocks Invitational hosted by Northern Arizona at Oak Creek Golf Course on Feb. 27-28.
The Highlanders return to the Golden State for two tournaments in the month of March. First up is a trip to Bakersfield, CA for the CSU Bakersfield Tournament at Bakersfield Country Club on Mar. 22-23, followed by the Anteater Invitational hosted by UC Irvine at Dove Canyon Country Club from Mar. 29-30.
UC Riverside then competes at the Cowgirl Classic hosted by the University of Wyoming at Ocotillo Golf Resort in Chandler, AZ on Apr. 5-6 before playing in the Big West Conference Championship on Apr. 19-20 at San Luis Obispo Country Club.
The Highlanders played in four tournaments in the fall portion of their 2009-10 schedule, garnering three top-five team finishes. Freshman Amelia Ek currently leads the squad with a 76.00 stroke average.
