Men's Golf Three Shots Off Lead At Bill Cullum Inv. With One Round To Go

Simi Valley, CA - The UC Riverside men's golf team enjoyed its best team performance of the fall season with rounds of 298-286 for a 584 two-round score to place third out of 15 squads at the Bill Cullum Invitational on Monday with one round remaining.
The Highlanders benefited from a 71 from Seong Kim in the opening round and used 70s from Kevin Fitzgerald (pictured) and Robbie Mamo in the second round to move up in the standings.
UCR is just three shots back of first-place Portland at 581. San Jose State is in second with a 582, with UCR on its heals at 584 and Cal State Northridge one stroke back with a 585.
Cal State San Bernardino's Kenny Pigman is the individual leader with a 139 (67-72).
Kim (71-74) and Fitzgerald (75-70) are both tied for 13th to pace the Highlanders as they fired identical 145 scores, while Mamo is tied for 18th at a shot back with 146 (76-70).
Matt Fitzgerald lowered his second round score to 72 after opening with an 81 to tie for 51st place with a 153, while Andrew Patipaksiri shot a 161 (76-85) to tie for 84th place.
UC Riverside concludes the invitational with a final 18-hole round on Tuesday.
