Brenda Martinez Finishes 12th In 1500m At NCAA Championship

Eugene, OR—UC Riverside two-time All-American Brenda Martinez finished 12th in the 1500m at the 2010 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship Saturday morning with a time of 4:25.60.
The Rancho Cucamonga native was among the race leaders at the 700m mark, but on the third lap the rest of the field collectively decided to pick up the pace passing Martinez and sending her to the back of the pack.
The trademark race-ending kick that has defined Martinez's collegiate career never came into play as there were just too many bodies to pass in too little time.
