Fitzgerald Advances To The Quarterfinals At The Cal State Amateur

UC Riverside golfer Kevin Fitzgerald advanced to the quarterfinals of the 99th Annual California State Amateur Championship on Thursday afternoon after defeating Michael Drake 7 and 5 in match play in the Round of 16.
The Highlanders senior quickly went 2 Up after three holes and never looked back, cruising to a 7 and 5 win through 13 holes.
Fitzgerald moves on to play Grant Norton on Friday at 7:50 am in the quarterfinals. The winner will then play in the semifinals at 1:15 pm later that day, with the winner of that match advancing to Saturday's 36-hole championship.
