Lauren Reid Finishes Eighth, Allison Wilder Twelfth At USA Nationals

Des Moines- IA—UC Riverside's Lauren Reid (left) finished in eighth place in the triple jump and teammate Allison Wilder finished 12th at the 2010 USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships Thursday evening.
Reid's best leap came on her second jump of the day as she cleared 13.04m (42' 9.25"). Wilder's best attempt also came on her second jump as she leaped 12.83m (42' 1.25").
Both triple jumpers improved upon their national rankings as Reid entered the championship 14th in the United States while Wilder ranked 17th.
"I am very proud of how Lauren and Allison represented UC Riverside at the highest level in our sport," said Assistant Track & Field Coach Andrew Basler. "I'm especially proud of Lauren advancing to the finals in her first-ever USA Championship. That was a great way to close out her career."
He added "It's also exciting that Allison got the opportunity to jump against the best female triple jumpers in the country. This should give her a great deal of confidence heading into her senior year."
