Scott Clayton Named Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar

Norman, OK—For the second time in as many seasons, UC Riverside golfer Scott Clayton was named a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar.
To be eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status a student-athlete must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least two full years at the collegiate level, participate in 70-percent of his team’s competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA Championships, have a stroke-average under 76.0, and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
Clayton graduated this spring with a degree in business economics. The San Bernardino, CA native recorded nine top-10 finishes in his career and was named to the All-Big West First Team as a senior. In addition to his high athletics and academic standing, Clayton was honored with UC Riverside's 2009-10 Lindy-Citizenship Award. The award is presented annually to the student-athlete who has demonstrated exceptional dedication and service to the university and the community at large during the current school year while remaining in good academic standing.
