Cross Country Opens 2010 Season Friday At Nevada Twilight Classic

The UC Riverside men's and women's cross country teams open the 2010 season on Friday, Sept. 3 at the Fourth Annual Nevada/Jim Vanden Heuvel Twilight Classic at Shadow Mountain Park in Sparks, NV. Check gohighlanders.com later this week for the season preview.
The College/Open Men's 6,000 meter race is scheduled for 7:20 pm with the College/Open Women's 4,000 meter race at 8:30 pm.
The Shadow Mountain Park course is a loop course of approximately 1,290 meters. It is mainly dirt trails with grass at the start and finish, and pavement for short stretches.
Last year, the UC Riverside women's cross country team won the Nevada Twilight Classic for the second time in three years and topped nationally ranked Stanford in taking the title. The men's team finished in second place a year ago.
