Ryan's Remarks: A New Blog From Men's Tennis Player Ryan Stanbury
4/29/2011 2:24:37 PM | Men's Tennis
UC Riverside men's tennis senior Ryan Stanbury has started writing a blog for gohighlanders.com. Curious about what it's like to be a student-athlete at an NCAA Division I institution? Then Ryan's Remarks are for you!
Check out Ryan's 10th installment on the 2010-11 Highlanders men's tennis program below, or brush up on his first nine blogs. Want to ask Ryan questions? Go ahead and email your questions and he will answer them for you on this blog.
We are currently leaving our hotel and are on our way to the site of our Conference Tournament which is to be played at the Indian Wells Tennis Gardens, home to one of the largest profession tennis tournaments in the world.
The hotel we are staying at is where many of the pro's stay when they play the tournament and it is by far the nicest hotel we have stayed at this year. Indian Wells is a top class facility and it is quite a thrill to be able to play on these courts.
Right now its a comfortable 85 degrees but by the time our match starts it will likely be upwards of 100 degrees on the court! We can't wait for the match to start... This is what the season is all about, playing for the chance to go to the NCAA tournament.
Although we have a tough draw, taking on UCSB in the first round, we are playing our best tennis of the year and feel confident going into the match. Hopefully we can live another day. We hope to see you out here, but if you can't make it send us your positive energy and good wishes. Go Highlanders.
