Simi Valley, CA - The UC Riverside Men's Golf Team took to the links Monday at the Bill Cullum Invitational, but only completed one round as the second 18-hole round was suspended due to darkness.
The Highlanders shot 307 in round one to place 15th out of 20 teams, and will finish out the second round Tuesday morning before beginning round three immediately following.
San Diego and Washington State shot identical 288s to lead the team competition, while Arizona State sits in third.
David Gazzolo paced the Highlanders with a first-round score of 73.
Three other UCR players shot in the 70's with freshman Christian Rajcic carding a 77, Ryan Smith came in with a 78, and Jason Semthiti fired a 79.
BJ Doucett rounded out the squad with an 82.
Arizona State's Jon Rahm Rodriguez is the current individual leader with a seven-under total.
