Women's Golf In 7th After First Round Of Play At BWC Championship

San Luis Obispo, CA - The UC Riverside Women's Golf team fired a 322 first-round score on Sunday at the Big West Conference Championship, sitting seventh out of seven squads with two rounds remaining.
The Highlanders are only two shots behind sixth-place Cal Poly and three back of fifth-place Cal State Fullerton. UC Irvine leads the tournament with a 12-over-par 300 followed by #22 UC Davis at 305, Long Beach State at 306, and Cal State Northridge at 313.
Individually, freshman Brittani Ferraro paces UCR with a 77 to tie for ninth place, while Amelia Ek is a stroke back at 78 to tie for 17th.
Savannah Vilaubi carded an 80 in the first round to tie for 22nd, while Denyse Neville and Christy Fogerty shot identical 87's to tie for 34th.
UCI's Michelle Park leads the individual field with a one-over 73.
The Big West Championship continues on Monday with a second 18-hole round at San Luis Obispo Country Club.
