UC Riverside Men's Soccer Cracks NSCAA Top-25 Rankings For First Time

Riverside—For the first time in the 12-year Division I history of the program, the UC Riverside Men's Soccer Team is ranked among the top 25 teams in the nation according to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). The honor comes just two days after the Highlanders ran their record to a perfect 5-0 with a 4-3 win on the road at UNLV.
College Soccer News tabbed UCR as the 30th ranked team in the nation in their weekly poll (story). The Highlanders were receiving votes in last week's Soccer Times poll, but this week's poll has yet to be released.
UC Riverside and Courtyard by Marriott are partnering this weekend to bring area soccer fans the UCR/Courtyard by Marriott Soccer Invitational featuring four men's soccer matches this weekend.
San Diego State, which joins the Big West Conference next season, takes on Nebraska Omaha of the Summit League at 5 pm PT on Friday, September 14, while the Highlanders host North Florida of the Atlantic Sun Conference in the nightcap at 8 pm.
On Sunday, September 16, UC Riverside squares off against Nebraska Omaha at 9:30 am, and North Florida and San Diego State finish off the invitational at 3:30 pm.
