Men's Golf Sits 13th At Price's Give 'Em Five Tournament After Two Rounds

El Paso, Texas - The UC Riverside Men's Golf Team continued its week of play on Friday with the first two rounds of the Price's Give 'Em Five Tournament at Butterfield Trail Golf Club. The Highlanders shot 289-298 for a 587 total to place 13th out of 15 squads with one round remaining. Complete Results
UCR's 11-over-par score is just three back of 12th place Grand Canyon, and less than a dozen behind the middle of the pack. New Mexico State used a blistering, 15-under-par 273 second round score to jump into the team lead with a 551. Colorado is in second place with a 559 followed by San Jose State in third with 561.
There is a four-way tie for first place on the individual side, with players from New Mexico State, San Jose State, and UTEP all tied at eight-under-par 136.
Brandon Tsujimoto paces the Highlanders squad firing scores of 69-73 (142) to tie for 19th place, while David Gazzolo is just three shots back at 145 (71-74) to tie for 32nd.
Sam Gillis is tied for 63rd with a two-round score of 76-75 (151), while Leven Simon Seay shot 153 (73-80) to tie for 71st, and Jason Semthiti fired a 155 (79-76) to tie for 78th.
The tournament concludes Saturday morning with a final 18-hole round starting at 7 am PT.
