Hefflin Named Budweiser Responsibility Matters Good Sport Of The Month

Riverside—Anheuser-Busch has teamed up with the UC Riverside Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and chosen women's cross country runner Raquel Hefflin as its November recipient of the "Budweiser Responsibility Matters Good Sport of the Month." Hefflin ran in two races for the Highlanders during the month of October, finishing first on the team in both of them, including a first-place overall finish at UCR's own Highlander Invitational on October 19 (recap). In that race, she guided UC Riverside to a second-place team finish out of nine squads while posting a career-best 5k time of 17:09.5.

In the Sacramento State Inter-Regional Jamboree on October 4, Hefflin placed 19th overall out of 156 runners helping the HIghlanders to an eighth place finish out of 19 schools (recap).
