Ashkan Khosravi Named Big West Conference Defensive Player Of The Week

Irvine, CA—The Big West announced yesterday that UC Riverside goalkeeper Ashkan Khosravi is the conference's Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for matches played from October 27 through November 3.
On Saturday, November 2, Khosravi helped the Highlanders blank nationally-ranked Cal State Northridge for the second time this season. It was the third shutout for the sophomore in just six matches this year, and the seventh shutout of the year for the squad. That breaks the team record for most clean sheets in a season set back in 2007.
It is the fourth conference player of the week award for Khosravi who won the award twice as a freshman (Aug. 20-26, 2012 / Sept. 10-16, 2012) and once prior this season (Oct. 14-20).

The Highlanders have two home matches remaining on the season as they battle for a postseason conference tournament berth—Wednesday, November 6 vs. UC Irvine, and Saturday, November 9 vs. Cal State Fullerton. Both matches are scheduled for 7 pm PT.
