Riverside—UC Riverside Men's Soccer athlete Eric Gonzalez is in his sophomore season with the blue and gold, and we here at gohighlanders.com got to know him a little better this fall via our Highlander Highlights series.

   ... is a sophomore from Corona, CA
      ... plays center midfielder and left defender
         ... likes to eat cookies and cream ice cream
            ... is right-handed, but left-footed
               ... goes by the nickname "Frog"

Eric believes the secret to a great life is to enjoy it as much as possible.
His favorite quote is "Never let the odds keep you from doing what you know in your heart that you were meant to do."
His greatest achievment so far was representing the USA while on the U17 national soccer team in 2010.
Eric would like to learn how to swim with sharks without a cage.
If he could be any animal, he would be a cheetah because they are super-fast and nothing could catch him.
His worst injury was a broken bone on the outside of his right foot.
