Vilaubi, Women's Golf Shoot School Records In First Round Of Las Vegas Showdown

Las Vegas, NV - The UC Riverside Women's Golf Team fired a school record, one-under-par 287 Sunday in the first round of the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown, placing second out of 18 teams with two rounds to go. Complete Results.
The Highlanders 287 total beats the previous school record for low 18-hole round by three shots (290, set last fall).
UCR is six strokes behind the leader, San Diego State, and maintains a two-shot lead over third-place UNLV.
UC Riverside senior Savannah Vilaubi also set a school record on Sunday, carding a five-under-par 67, one shot better than the previous school record. Vilaubi is tied for second individually just two shots back of the leader, San Diego State's Haleigh Krause.
Senior Brittani Ferraro, coming off a first-place win at the Santa Clara Colby Invitational last week (story), is tied for fourth with a two-under-par 70.
Julia Sander is tied for 30th with a 74 while Haley Wian shot 76 to tie for 50th, and Hannah Facchini tied for 77th with a 79.
The second round of the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown gets underway at 7:30 am PT.
