Men's Golf Named Budweiser Responsibility Matters Good Sports Of The Month

Riverside—Anheuser-Busch has teamed up with the UC Riverside Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and chosen the Men's Golf Team as its May recipient of the "Budweiser Responsibility Matters Good Sports of the Month." The Highlanders played in three tournaments in the month of April culminating in the Big West Conference Championship April 27-29. The blue and gold finished third out of nine teams at the event to secure their highest finish since the 2004 and 2005 squads won back-to-back league championships.

UCR used a stellar six-under-par 282 second-round score to leap frog over six teams and move up into the top half of the field. David Gazzolo tied for seventh individually to lead the team (recap).
